VERSE OF THE DAY: Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passeth away. -- Psalm 144:4
Welcome to Brasher's Chapel Church Online
We are a friendly church located in Albertville, Alabama with a heart for service and a desire to bless all who live in our community and beyond! We exist to help people become complete followers of Christ!
A Look at the Future of BCC
We are so excited about our all of our children and youth ministries here at the church. We recently took this photo for the upcoming football program ads and had almost 100 kids on stage! We are so blessed as a church to have so many young people at our church. They are our future!
Proverbs 11:3 says, "The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them." Have you ever needed guidance? I know I have needed guidance many times over the years for a number of different things. We are all faced with difficult choices everyday, and decisions become even more difficult when we are bombarded with numerous different options. It is in this arena that we can miss God's blessings by choosing the wrong option.
When we have to make a decision, we tend to make it based upon what is the most popular thing to do, or what is the easiest thing to do. However, just because something is popular and easy, does not make it right. Our choices should be based in what is right, and nothing else.
A few years ago, I spoke with a person going through a horrible time in their life. The pressure to do the wrong thing was enormous, but I encouraged them to do the right thing, no matter what, and I told them that they would "win" in the end. It took several years, but after years of heartache and difficulty, the person "won". This person did not win in money or fame, but in respect and integrity.
If we are to win in life's battles and wars, it will be with integrity. Integrity must make our decisions for us, not emotions, convenience or anything else. How can we maintain our integrity?
1. Pray and read your Bible daily. Nothing holds us accountable to doing the right thing like a daily encounter with the Lord.
2. Avoid relationships that are spiritually unhealthy. In decision time we need the influence of godly, holy people. Many people who have failed the Lord will lead you in the same path that they took themselves. The Bible says that we are to seek "wise" counsel. Stay with people who are getting it right!
3. Look to the future. Think about how the decision you are making will impact you and your family in years to come. When my mother-in-law was sick with a terminal illness, we prefaced every decision concerning her with this question, "The day after her funeral, will we be able to say we did our best?" Answering that question made many decisions for us during her sickness and our care for her. We will also have a day when we stand before the Lord, and we want the Lord to say "Enter in thou good and faithful servant". Remember, every decision has an eternal impact.
May God bless you today as you live and prosper in spiritual integrity.
